Welcome to Village Primary Academy Nursery

From April 2024 we will once more be offering 2 year old places in our Nursery setting.

FINAL FEW TWO YEAR OLD PLACES STILL AVAILABLE FOR EASTER 2024

From April 2024 working parents of 2 year olds will be able to access 15 hours of funded childcare per week

From September 2025 this funding will be increased to 30 hours of funded childcare per week for eligible parents.

To sign up for an eligibility code please visit https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/ to find out more and complete your application.  If you are eligible you will be given an 11-digit code that you will need to bring to school along with your child's birth certificate.

You will need to reconfirm your eligibility every three months and will receive a reminder text message or email from the government before the deadline.

Children are eligible to start Nursery from the term after they turn 2, for a two year old place, or the term after they turn 3 for a 3.year old place.  Your child can be placed on the waiting list at any time by enquiring at the school office where you will be asked to complete an enrolment form.

We can offer your child:

  • Teacher led provision
  • High quality term time provision
  • Fully funded places for both 15 and 30* hours
  • High ratios of staff to children to ensure maximum interaction, intervention and impact
  • Access to extensive outdoor play areas, playing fields and Forest School
  • Food prepared and cooked fresh on site
  • A daily healthy snack (£10 per term voluntary contribution)
  • Excellent transition for when your child moves into primary education
  • Delivering the standards set by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework
  • Regular updates on your child’s progress
  • On site specialist staff: Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo), Pupil & Family Support Worker, Safeguarding Leads, Learning Mentor
  • Excellent links with Health Care professionals
  • Good Ofsted rating
  • Staff who all receive comprehensive training on a wide range of subjects with regular required updates
  • The many benefits of being an integral part of a large, multi-cultural Primary School.

Morning Sessions:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

08:30 – 11:30am (15 hours per week)

Afternoon Sessions:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

12:30 – 3:30pm (15 hours per week)

*We can offer 30 hours free nursery provision for eligible 3 and 4 year olds.  To find out if you are eligible please visit:

www.gov.uk/apply-30-hours-free-childcare

If you qualify for the 30 hours funding, parents/guardians must re-apply every three months.  If you do not reapply or your circumstances change then it may mean that you are no longer entitled to these additional hours (but your child will continue to be eligible for the universal 15 hours)

Children who qualify for 30 hours funding, and are therefore in school all day, can purchase a hot school meal for just £2.40 per day, or you are welcome to provide a healthy packed lunch.

Please note that if you have a child in the nursery it does not mean that older siblings will be offered a place in the school.

Please also note that a place in the nursery does not guarantee a place in the main school.  An application will need to be made to join the main school.

We only offer term time provision and are closed during school holidays.
